Just finished the first story in the book - I was laughing out loud, my neighbors must think I am crazy. Jesse has a unique aptitude to draw his audience in at an early point. This being said, I am looking forward to the next stories in the book. I can imagine they are just as humorous and witty! What also caught my attention was the "prank calls" he mentions in the start. Everyone likes a little (or in my case a lot) of humor in their life, perhaps there should be some thought to putting a book together on these calls or ideas!!Product details

Rejection A Humorous Short Story Collection edition by Jesse Jamison Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews
I liked the book, but it was a little hard to follow in the end. I would recommend this for higher-level readers.
Great story....... You are very talented young man and adorable! Mahalo for your books. Sending you ALOHA from the island of Maui ! RLG
The writer clearly understands the subtle art of layering a story with mystery and intrigue. He has a clever writing style that begged me to keep turning the pages. At times, I wanted to scream at the POV character for appearing weak, and then the writer would surprise me a page or two later with a solid, sarcastic reason for the character's actions. Great job weaving one story into the other. This was a pleasant find)
This book was definitely funny and I found myself laughing out loud while I was reading it, which I definitely don't do with most books. Always kept me guessing and I could relate so many of the characters to odd friends I have in real life (you probably will be able to do that too) which made it even MORE funny to me. Ending left me hanging a bit so I'm hoping that there is another book coming out and I'd definitely buy it, but these short stories will definitely get you chuckling so go ahead and buy a copy of this book )
This book was... unique. Definitely not like anything I'd read before. I don't read many adult-targeted short story collections, especially ones with a humorous undertone. Most of my short stories are read to my kids. This is the first one I'd read that was targeted for teens and up. I think people ages 20 to 35 would enjoy this book most. It has a lot of young adult themes.
The book itself is seperated into chapters, rather than individual stories. But, each chapter is it's own story. And you could easily skip chapters and flip to different ones. With that being said, if you read them in order, they each intertwine in a way. So the grand story can kind of be found amidst many shorter stories. I thought this was really fun. And once I caught onto it, I enjoyed the book even more. It kept me reading more vigorously after discovering each of the stories were intertwined. But the stories could easily be read at a slow pace. Some people love reading short story collections, because they don't need to the book all at once. These short stories, although related, could easily be read seperately with just as much enjoyment.
All of the stories are based on humorous experiences. There's your typical 'awkward moments', your success stories, your trial and errors, and your typical life experiences. All are fun to read. Some have their high and low points. Some are funnier than others- but it all depends on what you can relate to and what you can't. People tend to find things funny that they themselves have been through. You're sure to find some kind of story like that in this book, but probably not every single one of them is going to 'get you'. With that being said, it's easy to enjoy every story even if you can't share the experiences. There are certain aspects in each one that are definitely relatable.
The characters are fun, very realistic. You almost feel like you're hanging out with a group of friends. I think every character you could probably point out a person in real who you know to be exactly like them. The author did a great job of making the characters 'real' rather than overdone.
There is some adult language in the book. Not frequent, but enough to turn some readers away. I didn't mind it, but thought I'd give a few people a heads up so they realize what they're buying. I think it adds to the story by making the dialouge between everyone more realistic rather than 'subdued for reading purposes'.
Overall a very fun read. Like I said I'd recommend it to young and middle-aged adults. I had fun reading it and could probably reread it a few more times with still as much enjoyment as the first.
Just finished the first chapter, and I loved it! Jamison is so witty with his writing. You're bound to say "What just happened?! Hahahaha"
I enojoed the short stories...very descriptive. Great intro to the character's. I could picture the people the author, Mr. Jamison, is writing about. I have to say...the end left me hanging...I hope there will be a 2nd book that continues this intro to the charactors. Fun and easy read!
